Reviews Summary

Yu Chocolatier is celebrated for its exquisite and elegantly crafted chocolates and pastries, often described as a sophisticated and stylish destination. While the quality and unique flavors are highly praised, some find the prices to be on the higher side. The attentive service contributes to a delightful experience, though it's advisable to book in advance.

"Quiet and stylish chocolatier and cafe. A small menu, with a selection of about 6 pastries and several drinks (including seasonal chocolate drinks and tea). Don't let the limited choice put you off, the pastires were exquisite and distinctive, and the oolong tea was refreshing. A little pricey but worth it! The mont blanc was especially good."

Aoife Casson

"Service is nice and attentive.
Desserts are delicate and elegant.
Took out 2 chocolate cakes, and they were way too sweet than I expected. It needs to be shared with others. A dark chocolate lover probably won’t enjoy it.

🔹Shibusa NT$270
🔹Ultra Chocolate Pound Cake NT$150"

Andrea

"Good atmosphere and good/kind services.

105TWD per 1 piece which is really expensive. I have never seen this type of chocolate to be so expensive. I usually buy La Maison du Chocolat and even their price is lower. The taste and the quality is really good so the high pricing is really pity.

In terms of volume, I felt that it was too thin and it could be thicker to feel more aroma."

Snippets: 8 Cafes and Teahouses you must visit in Taipei

Opened about two years ago by a local Taiwanese who has been trained in France, YU Chocolatier is probably the best chocolate patisserie shop I have visited in Taipei. The small and cosy eight seater space was an absolute joy for me after a long day of walking in the city. I had a rich chocolate tart and iced chocolate drink which were memorably good, and would recommend anyone here if you are looking for a good dessert cafe away from the main tourist districts in this city.

Underrated Spots for Artisanal Coffee, Tea, and Desserts

Just about everything at Yu Chocolatier is impeccably executed – from the chic monochromatic interiors, to the beautifully crafted pastries. The Forest of Alsace is one of the venue’s highlights – it’s a crisp puff encasing a raspberry jam centre and pastry cream made with Valrhona Manjari chocolate. There’s also the Shibusa, a glimmering pastry with a luscious mousse and a crunchy base with layers of chocolate.
