Reviews Summary

Nomura Sushi is lauded as a top-tier omakase experience, frequently earning comparisons to the best sushi meals globally, with particular praise for its artistic presentation and fresh, flavorful ingredients. While the culinary artistry is undeniable, some guests note minor language barriers and a sometimes noisy atmosphere in the intimate setting. Overall, it's considered a must-visit for sushi aficionados seeking an exceptional and educational meal.

"So good! Deserving of its Michelin. Lunch options are $4k, $6k, $7k, we opted for $6k.

Each dish looked simple but we found them very artistic, visually appealing, good temperatures, great textures, different kinds of flavors in one bite.

They have private room for 2-6ppl.

Owner / head chef is friendly and professional, a Japanese sushi chef who can speak Mandarin and English.

It was our first time there but we'll def go again and prob one of our top omakase places in Taipei!"

Natalie Lin (Nat)

"Food is great, and the chef is good in his ingredients preparation. Didn’t get to seat on the counter so didn’t get much interaction on this meal with the chef, only got the servicing staff rushly explaining on the dishes. All i can say is food is good. Renovation has the usual Jap omakasen vibe."

Hito Man

"This was the second time I visited this wonderful sushiya. Every single item was outstanding. This was my best sushi experience in my life."

The Best Sushi Restaurants in Taipei

At his sushi-ya, chef Nomura Yuji specializes in Edomae sushi and is very particular about his seafood ingredients, the quality of the rice, and the ratio of vinegar in the shari. The rice is made of organic Koshihikari rice and Hokkaido seven-star rice from Shikoku Mizuho-cho, cooked with spring water from Mount Fuji, and then mixed with red vinegar and white vinegar to make vinegared rice. The exact recipe changes depending on the seafood and even the season.
