Located in a Japanese Meiji Taisho Period mansion, Mountain and Sea House provide a traditional Taiwanese fine-dining experience, surrounded by romantically styled furniture of Japan’s noble families. You’ll love the homestyle breakfast table where everyone can meet and chat over a delicious included breakfast, and the location is just a few minutes walk from the nearest subway in Songshan.

Mountain and Sea House is revered as the best farm-to-table among the top Taipei restaurants. This restaurant prides itself on its commitment to sustainability and the use of organic ingredients sourced directly from local farms and fisheries. The Wild Mushroom Risotto and the Fresh Sea Bass are standout dishes that perfectly embody the restaurant’s farm-to-table philosophy.

If you’re into bizarrely themed dining, then you won’t want to miss a restaurant that I forced my husband Angel to visit with me: Modern Toilet. You can pretty much guess the theme based on the name. While my hubby wasn’t thrilled with the experience, I found the bathroom- style setting to be a lot of fun for photos, and even Angel admitted the food was surprisingly good.

Those who plan to dine in a large group will love eating at Mountain and Sea House. Taiwanese banquet-style meals inspire this Taipei restaurant, so expect family-style meals in a stunning setting. Every ingredient on the menu is organic and locally sourced, with some ingredients coming from the restaurant owner’s farm.

The seafood is very good. The carbon roast pork neck meat inside is delicious. It is super tender. The sashimi is very good. It is the fish in the local sea area of Taiwan. It tastes very tender and there is no hard feeling.
