What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Modern Toilet Restaurant offers a highly unique and amusing dining experience, with its toilet-themed decor being the main draw. While the novelty is celebrated, particularly by families and groups, reviews suggest the food quality is secondary to the concept, with some finding it average or disappointing for the price. Service is generally noted as friendly and attentive, making it a memorable spot for those seeking a quirky adventure.
"The theme of the place is quirky and fun. Despite the theme, the food is really quite appetizing. Serving size is generous as well. It's also a great place for picture taking. Overall, I enjoyed our lunch here."

"I recently visited Modern Toilet Restaurant in Taipei, located in Ximending. Honestly, it was just okay. It used to be super hyped, but now it feels more like a novelty than a must visit spot. They open around 11 a.m., and my friend and I ended up ordering a lot probably too much for just the two of us! The portions are quite large, especially the pasta, so make sure to check the menu carefully before ordering. It’s definitely better for big groups who can share the food.We did have a small issue where they gave us the wrong order, but we didn’t ask for a refund since we felt bad for the staff. They did try to compensate by offering free ice cream, but we had already ordered their shaved ice dessert which, by the way, comes in a huge serving! The ambiance is quirky and themed, but it feels like it needs a bit of maintenance now. Some of the glass table tops were scratched, making it hard to see the designs underneath. It probably had more charm a few years ago.On a positive note, they do have Wi-Fi, which is a plus. Also, be sure to use Google Maps to find the location, it’s on the second floor and can be easy to miss.Overall, it’s fun for the experience, especially if you’ve never been, but I wouldn’t consider it a must-do if you’re short on time in Taipei."

"To be honest the food was really not good but the restaurant is fun. The theme is original but you only pay for the concept not for the food. If you want to have a fun time with your family then it’s a good choice.
But do not come for the food because it is clearly low quality. I had the Thai curry and it was so dry I had to ask for more sauce that came too watery as curry is supposed to be a thick sauce. Very disappointed on the food.
Fun place to eat to have a laugh though.
The 5 stars reviews are to get free bread do not get fooled."
