Reviews Summary

Din Tai Fung is celebrated for its world-renowned xiaolongbao and impeccable service, with many finding the food and hygiene standards outstanding. However, some diners note that portion sizes can be unexpectedly generous, and wait times are often significant, sometimes exceeding an hour. While generally praised, a few reviews suggest that certain dishes at the Taipei 101 location may not consistently meet the high standards set by overseas branches.

"Din Tai Fung 101 was a delightful dining experience, but not without its surprises! We knew what to expect price-wise, given the restaurant's reputation, but the portions were a different story altogether. Many of the dishes, including the fried rice, were generously sized - enough for two people to share. We didn't quite anticipate the sheer amount of food we'd be getting, but it was a pleasant surprise!

However, there was another surprise in store for us - the service charge. Let's just say we had a good laugh about it after realizing how much it added to our bill. Despite the unexpected costs, the service itself was top-notch. We arrived at 11:20 am and were seated within just 5 minutes, which was impressive.

The food, of course, was the real star of the show. The fried rice was absolutely delicious, and the xiao long bao was incredibly tasty. Each bite was a delight, and the flavors were well-balanced and rich. It was clear that the chefs at Din Tai Fung 101 take their craft seriously, and the results show.

Overall, while the portions and service charge might have been unexpected, the quality of the food and service made it well worth the visit. If you're a fan of Din Tai Fung, the Taipei 101 location is definitely worth checking out!"

"This place consistently serves high-quality food with top-notch service, and they are wonderfully kid-friendly. The cold appetizers are all excellent, and their signature soup dumplings are a must-try. I’d highly recommend visiting any of their locations in Taiwan—you can’t go wrong."

Kevin Lau

"Had a very pleasant dining experience today. The xiaolongbao and fried rice were both delicious. Expect to spend around NT$200–500 per person, depending on how much you order.

I recommend taking a number first and then exploring the nearby area while you wait. I came at around 4 PM and waited about 100 minutes. Be aware that when there are about 10 numbers left before yours, you should return to the restaurant to wait in person—they sometimes call numbers quite quickly!"
