"Everything is awesome in this place. The food is excellent, the choice of meat cut is awesome, the cooking is done to perfection for every type of cut and the cooks are skilled and friendly. Some would argue that the price is a bit high but you pay the quality of the food and service.
If you like yakiniku, book a table there and enjoy!"

"Great quality meat, excellent service, they do all the cooking, one of the best Japanese BBQ experience ever. The price is also very reasonable for what you get. We went with a la cart, here are the dishes we ordered in the pics."

"The marbling of the steak speaks for itself. Absolutely value for money given the top grade quality beef. Gyutan, yakiniku with egg, and thick steak was the highlight of the meal. Scallop was sooooo fresh. We got the set menu, and given the dining limit of 90minutes, we felt slightly rushed towards the end. Staff were really friendly and made the entire dining experience very enjoyable and fun."

Da-wan has already been around for ten years, with only one outlet in Taipei. The predominantly counter-seating restaurant is not big, but you get personalised service where dedicated staff will help you grill your meats to the perfect texture. The various parts of the Australian Wagyu I had were all succulently grilled, with an intense marbling flavour which rivals that of the Ines I had in Singapore or Japan.

Its chef, Huang Yihong (黃一洪) sums up the requirements to winning a Michelin star in two simple sentences: “Be persistent and never compromise easily” and “Be an upright person.” Being persistent means changing the habits of staff and customers who insist on using a lot of dip.
