O tacacá é um prato de origem indígena, típico da região amazônica, mais especificamente do Pará. Eu experimentei o da Gisela durante minha passagem por Manaus, com 39°. Sinceramente não curti muito, mais vsle a experiência. 🥣🦐🇧🇷#tacaca #manaus #tacacadagisela #pravoce #viral

Reviews Summary

Tacacá da Gisela offers a truly authentic Amazonian culinary experience, celebrated for its unique tangy broth and prime location opposite Teatro Amazonas. While many find it delicious and a must-try, some diners note it can be expensive for the portion size, and the intense flavors and ingredients like whole shrimp may not appeal to everyone's palate. Nevertheless, it's considered a quintessential Manaus experience for locals and tourists alike.

"Small stall with traditional good dish served in a wooden bowl. The shrimps in the soup are with the shell, locals eat it all, it's not my kind of thing but the taste is great. 20reais for a portion."

Dan Pilbauer

"It looked appetizing but tasted bad. Very intense bad taste.

Soup that you drink because you don't get a spoon. Shrimps in their shells, unacceptable to me. I pulled out each shrimp with a stick to peel it from the skin, but in the end it was still unpalatable.

We left on a bench for the homeless.

R$ 28 per person"

Vanalai

"Indigenous soup served on a traditional coconut bowl. Can’t say whether it’s best compared to the original flavor but it was very good no doubt! Just R$22 seems a bit expensive but was still worth it."

More than a simple street stall, Tacacá da Gisela is a permanent fixture in the square opposite the Teatro Amazonas, with ornate green columns and a smart tiled roof. Locals as well as tourists stop by for a fix of its eponymous dish – tacacá, a tangy broth and a popular street food, that will surprise even the most worldly of palates. Served in a cuia gourd bowl where dried shrimp, lip-numbing jambu leaves (a local herb) and gloopy manioc gum all swim about in a sharp yellow broth ( tucupi) extracted from manioc root; ask for it " sem goma", if you're squeamish about slime.

In the Amazon, Nothing Hits the Spot Like Tacacá

This brick-and-mortar tacacazeira opened in 2002 in Largo São Sebastião, the plaza next to Manaus' famed opera house Teatro Amazonas. Their recipe is standard but consistent, and as an added bonus, each bowl comes with a side of spicy sauce made with local murupi chiles and tucupi. Enough tourists also pass through here that the vendors will ask if you want your soup " sem goma"—without the slimy manioc gel.
