Reviews Summary
Meatballs for the People is celebrated for its extensive and unique meatball selections, often praised as the best in Stockholm. Diners enjoy the cozy and hip atmosphere, complemented by friendly and attentive service. While the quality and variety of meatballs are consistently highlighted, some find the portion sizes small for the price, and the vegetarian options could be more varied.
"We ordered the Swedish Classic with chicken—the gravy was flavorful, and the chicken was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned.
We also tried the spaghetti with beef; the sauce was nice, but I personally didn’t enjoy the beef meatballs.
Overall, it was a great experience and a solid introduction to traditional Swedish food.
The service was good, and although we arrived at 9 PM and the place was quite busy, we still managed to get a table without waiting too long.
Definitely worth a visit, especially for first-timers looking to try authentic Swedish cuisine."

"I had a great experience here! The food is excellent with good quality meat, creamy mashed potatoes and unique cranberry sauce. The brown sauce was a little too thin for me but the overall taste was great. The atmosphere is also very chill, and the server was super kind and attentive, when I indicated I am in a hurry, did everyone he could the make it quicker for me. Yes, it's not cheap, 278 SEK for 8 meatballs, but worth a visit."

"Arrived for a late lunch at about 12:50 on a week day. The place was jam packed as the early lunch crowd was finishing up so there was a brief wait. Once seated, orders were taken quickly and the menu was pretty easy to understand. The restaurant has a great decor and a little shop with "ball" themed merchandise. I ordered the classic meatballs and they were very tasty. If you want a sample of meatballs, you've got to order from a chef's menu and, even then, don't get to select the meatballs you want to try. That's kind of a bummer. But, listening to folks seated nearby led me to believe that all the meatballs are really tasty."

This Södermalm temple to the most Swedish of dishes is really more of a deli than a restaurant, but it's worth a mention as a great place to sample the mighty köttbulle (meatball) as it should be eaten. A million miles from the mass-produced versions found in supermarkets and certain furniture stores, the köttbulle of Hampus Rosenqvist and his team are lovingly handmade from impeccably sourced meat, game, fish and fowl. You can’t visit Stockholm without sampling proper meatballs with mashed potatoes and lingonberries.
