At the top of the Gothia Towers, Upper House Dining is a wonderful setting for taking in the magnificent skyline views of Göteborg over a sumptuous, high quality Swedish meal. A team of creative chefs work with seasonal ingredients to produce six-course menus comprising of traditional dishes, including lobster and reindeer, with a contemporary twist. At Upper House Dining, waiters make the guests feel special by discussing their tastes and preferences before taking orders, and all input is taken into account to ensure a fully customized gastronomic experience.

To get more of a vacation feel, take the all-glass elevator past all the boardroom-filled floors until you get to the very top of the skyscraper, where you’ll find a separate “elevated” mini hotel called Upper House. The bedroom views up here make for spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Upper House also has a jaw-dropping spa, where in addition to a sauna, steam room, cold-plunge buckets, and a hamam, you’ll find an outdoor, heated glass-floor pool that protrudes out the side of the building.

You will find the best view in Gothenburg, together with some of the best cocktails and a choice of ten Nordic ales, on the 25th floor of the Middle Tower at the Gothia Towers exhibition, congress and hotel complex. With an open rooftop terrace and fantastic 360 degree panoramic views of the entire city and Liseberg amusement park below, this is the perfect place to visit for sunset. In an almost speakeasy fashion, you will need a key for the elevator, which can be found at the Upper House hotel concierge desk, and you will need to dress up as it's also a Michelin Star restaurant.

Gothenburg is synonymous with great food — the freshest ingredients and the tastiest dishes from both the land and the sea. Seafood is highly recommended in Gothenburg, and whether you choose a prawn sandwich in a café or a perfectly cooked halibut in a fine dining restaurant, you'll discover that seafood does taste better when it is caught so close to your plate. SK Mat & Människor is an intimate bistro and wine bar known for its innovative and contemporary interpretations of classic Scandinavian cuisine.

Bhoga, Koka, Restaurant 28, Sk Mat Och Manniskor, Thornstroms Kok and Upper House (also in Gothia Towers) are indeed leading the way. For our final night in this charming city we chose to dine at Norda, in the Clarion Post Hotel. Norda is one of the many restaurants in the portfolio of Marcus Samuelsson, an Ethopian-born, Swedish-raised, chef and restaurateur.

Decided to open with the fanciest option on the list: the Upper House Lounge. With a selection of over 10 fine, Nordic ales on tap and mouthwateringly good cocktails, the 25th floor of the Middle Tower is the place to be for a fancy night out. It has an open top terrace, and requires a key to enter the lift which must be sought from the hotel concierge desk.

Whilst in Gothenburg I stayed at Gothia Towers, which was such an amazing hotel experience (I strongly recommend it). Gothia Towers consist of 3 towers, and also in the towers, you will find Upper House. This is a 5-star hotel and restaurant that I was lucky enough to visit during my stay.
