Reviews Summary

Monsoon Colombo is celebrated for its exceptional Southeast Asian fusion cuisine, stunning ambiance, and top-notch service, making it a go-to spot in the city. While most diners rave about the flavorful dishes, creative cocktails, and attentive staff, a few have noted that portion sizes can be on the smaller side and have raised concerns about unexpected charges and misleading menu prices.

"Monsoon Colombo is an absolute standout when it comes to dining in the city. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the stylish and welcoming atmosphere—modern yet warm, with thoughtful décor that sets the perfect mood for a relaxed yet elevated dining experience.

The food was exceptional. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The menu offers a wonderful mix of Southeast Asian influences, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into the selection of ingredients and balance of flavors. Whether you’re a fan of bold spices or more subtle, fragrant dishes, there’s something for everyone. We particularly loved how fresh everything tasted.

Equally impressive was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They offered helpful recommendations and made sure our experience was seamless from start to finish. It’s rare to find that perfect combination of great food and top-notch service, but Monsoon nails it effortlessly.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through Colombo, Monsoon is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable meal in a vibrant, comfortable setting. We’ll definitely be coming back for more!"

"At first glance, from the outside it doesn’t look like there’s much here – just a narrow lane with some tables. But once you step inside, it’s actually quite nice. The interior has a cozy vibe with exposed brick walls, stylish seating, and a modern setup. It feels casual but also a bit trendy.

The food looks good – classic Asian comfort dishes. Presentation is neat, and portions seem filling. it’s just okay — nothing really special or memorable. Not bad, but not something I’d go out of my way for. The service team was very poor, and I’m not happy with the experience

Overall, it’s one of those spots where you don’t expect much from the outside, but inside it’s surprisingly pleasant and worth a try."

Good food.
Good vibes.
Live music was a bonus.
Do try the mushroom baos.
Veg pad thai was overly sweet so can be ignored."

Dominating trendy Park Street Mews, just a hop away from aforementioned Uncle’s, Monsoon exudes a cool-vibes atmosphere with a fun crowd, thanks in part to the venue’s live music sessions from Wednesday to Sunday each week. Slick staff dressed in matching abstract floral shirts glide around the airy joint, dropping off cocktails, French and Chilean wines, and no less than 21 types of gin at the tables of both locals and tourists. There’s also a 27-strong cocktail menu that lists five sublime alcohol-free drinks, including: Salted Tamarind Fizz, a sweet and salty tipple with a touch of lime; and Fujian Ball, a black tea-based drink with a touch of ginger and passionfruit.
