Reviews Summary

Restaurante Quema is highly praised for its imaginative tasting menus, offering a sensory experience with beautiful presentation and delicious flavors. Many highlight the exceptional value of the weekday lunch menu and the overall quality of the food. However, some reviews mention that portion sizes can be small, and service, while generally correct, can be slow during peak times.

"30 euros lunch menu (wine, 2 starters, main and dessert), good quality and fast service"

Jonás Ansó

"BIG SERVINGS THAT TASTE OF NOTHING.

I felt scammed by all the reviews and ratings of this restaurant. I was looking SO forward to my meal here, and sadly, I was left with such disappointment and regret.

Let's start with the place.
I was already quite skeptical of the location as I crossed dirty streets, casinos, and bars. I kept thinking, "how can a restaurant of this caliber be located in such a dirty area of a really beautiful city?" But I didn't let that stop me from dining. I entered the restaurant and it felt like I was inside a tent that was just made to look nice because of the draping of cheap cloth curtains. Not the prettiest place as compared to the other highly rated restaurants in Zaragoza. Not gonna lie, it was so pretentious. The open kitchen though was a nice tough, but I find that kitchen style normal and it doesn't really amaze me anymore.

The service.
No comments on the service, they served everything on time. Bare minimum, I can get the same level of service in a gourmet burger or pizza restaurant anywhere too.
But I have been to enough fine dining restaurants, michelin-rated, michelin starred restaurants to know that the quality of service at Quema was not deserving of its title. Servers just explained the food like it was a caption written off of an instagram caption of the food's picture. No passion, no art, just a description. I expected the servers to be more proud of their food -- because that's what you should ALWAYS expect from a fine dining restaurant.

The food.
Ah, horrible. Nasty. Wasteful.
Looks pretty, sounds nice on paper, but taste wise I wanted to cut my meal short the moment we had the third course.
The dishes had 0 variation from each other -- too much cream. too much of everything.

It was not a TASTING menu. I think this restaurant needs to redefine its meaning of "TASTING"...it's not a big meal for each course. It should be small bites --- hence tasting. It's like I ordered 7 a la carte dishes for myself that's why by the third course I wanted to just leave and not even get my money back. It was just horrible.

I hope Quema can revamp their service and menu. Add more crunch. Decrease the cream. Train your staff to actually look like they love and are passionate about the food they serve. Change the curtains and make the place warmer."

Margarita Torres

"Fabulous tasting menu. Very well thought of, filling, and very high quality. Each dish is explained well and is a sensory pleasure - the way it is presented, taste, smell and texture. The tasting menu is extensive and leaves you content at the end of it. Service is a touch slow when full. The open kitchen adds to the culinary experience."
