What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Riuà is celebrated for its delicious and authentic Valencian paella, often hailed as some of the best in the city, complemented by a warm, traditional atmosphere. While many praise the rich flavors and friendly service, some diners find the paella to be overly salty, and occasionally the service can be slow.
"Best paella we had in Valencia. Absolutely PACKED with flavour. The aroma of the rosemary hits you and runs through the entire dish, it’s perfectly seasoned and the beans are cooked so well. Every paella we had after this one disappointed us! Service was wonderful and the atmosphere is amazing. 10/10!"

"I really wanted a traditional experience and as soon as I walked in the door it felt so authentic and home like. The decor on the wall, the warm greetings it was great.
The staff were so attentive and more than generous with sangria top ups. There are so many paellas being churned out the kitchen, all of different sizes. I was solo and even though they catered for a Paella for
One it was huge. I felt it could have been a bit warmer but that is my only criticism.
Great food, the octopus was out of this world and so was the jamon"

"This place was recommended to us by a tour guide, and we were told that it has one of the best Valencian paellas here. There’s so many reviews here too that indicate it should be a nice place, but we found the paella to be very salty and the service was really slow. Overall we were kind of disappointed with this place."

Classic Valencian Restaurants
This restaurant has been an institution since opening on Calle Mar in 1978. Ríua is the Valencian word for “flood,” referencing the 1957 disaster when the Turia overflowed, killing 48 people and covering the city with up to five meters of water. Kind of a macabre inspiration for a restaurant… but if I were to drown in a flood, I hope it would be a flood of La Ríua’s famous paella.
