What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Restaurant Rincón de Diego offers an impressive Michelin-starred dining experience with inventive Spanish cuisine, particularly excelling in creative seafood dishes and stunning presentations. While many praise the high quality of ingredients and the artistry of the food, some guests have found certain courses less surprising, and there have been occasional remarks about inconsistencies in wine service and a lack of accommodation for vegetarian diners.
"We had a 65 Euro set menu.
And to try as much dishes we could we both made different choices.
I can tell about dishes, but at the time you might want to visit the restaurant the dishes have changed.
So… the amuses, are many, and all very high on taste/seasoning. Very good
Starters are also very high quality and with humble ingredients nice dishes are presented.
When you are like us not from Spain, I would suggest to ask for a moderate tempo, because dishes are served extremely quick.
Only criticism… the dishes are really big. I am a big guy and was fully stuffed.
Main was very simple presentation but taste wise perfect.
Desert also very nice.
Verdicht: 1 michelinstar, 65 Euro for this menu, very high standard of cooking, 5 euro for a glass of wine…
This is an absurdly good price quality.
I cannot recommend enough!!"

"Great quality of food! The presentation of the food was stunning. We had the Summum Menu and each course was a suprise on it’s own! Make sure you try the lobster chili crab, best dish we ever had."

"Had a nice dinner at Rincón de Diego. The starters were excellent: full of flavor and beautifully presented, definitely the highlight of the experience. The main courses were a bit mixed, but I really enjoyed the Gazpacho, which was refreshing and different. The wasabi ice cream was a nice touch.
Unfortunately, I found the desserts underwhelming and not quite up to the standard set by the earlier courses. Dubai chocolate just felt lime a cheap ending to the tasting menu and not something I would expect at a place like this.
The petit fours were a nice touch overall, though the lucky cookies were a bit too messy (they broke and couldn’t read the message well) and didn’t quite work for me.
Service was professional."

What to do at the Costa Dorada
Things are more upscale at Rincón de Diego, but I wouldn’t have expected anything else in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Nevertheless, the gastronomic 6-course menu more than exceeded my expectations. And when the press text says “chef Diego Campos conjures up exquisite dishes with Basque and Mediterranean influences and displays extraordinary creativity” then that is an understatement: The presentation alone became more and more fascinating with each course.

Usually in Spain, when you’re eating this close to the beach, it’s highly unlikely you’re having a nice meal. Not so at El Rincón de Diego, which is just a couple of doors down from the beach in pretty Cambrils. Pair that location with the deft cooking of chef Diego and his son Rubén, plus a thoughtful wine list, and you’re in store for an exhilarating meal.
