What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tragatá receives high praise for its creative and innovative take on Spanish cuisine, with many diners highlighting the exceptional tapas and unique flavor combinations. The service is generally friendly and attentive, contributing to a positive dining experience. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few guests have noted that the wine list can be a bit expensive, and one reviewer mentioned an undercooked bone marrow dish and inattentive service.
"Out of all the incredible meals we had during our trip through southern Spain , this one stood out as an absolute favorite. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and had a refreshing creative twist.
The appetizers set the tone beautifully—particularly the salmon with lime, which struck the perfect balance between vibrant acidity and delicate richness. It was a simple yet elevated start that immediately impressed us.
Then came the squid sandwich, which was nothing short of spectacular. The squid itself was tender and flavorful, but what truly made the dish unforgettable was the bun—warm, freshly baked, and wonderfully soft. It brought everything together in the most satisfying way.
The pork with cream and mushrooms was equally memorable. Rich, savory, and perfectly cooked, it was comfort food elevated to something truly special.
Finally, the fried sea bass was a standout. Crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, it was a flawless execution of a classic dish.
The dessert definitely added an icing to the cake. Mango sorbet mixed with a spicy sauce was very savory!
Highly recommended to anyone visiting the region"

"Glad we found and booked this restaurant. My friend was joking that we have been eating Spanish food continuously and may get bored by now. The food here is out of ordinary and one of the best in our Southern Spain trip. Everything is good and can’t stop thinking of the dessert. Will be back soon to try more food."

"Right next to the legendary bridge of Ronda, you can find this gem of a restaurant. We visited with a 1 year and 4 year old, and were welcomed with a smile! The staff were wonderful with the children, and made sure we had the best experience. The food is simply delicious. Especially would recommend the scallops, steak tartare and dry aged beef. Make a reservation! Yum!"

The Best Restaurants (and tapas) in Ronda
Tragata has been one of the top establishments in Ronda for a considerable amount of time. This is not surprising considering that the person in charge, Benito Gomez, who is also the owner and chef of the recently Michelin-starred restaurant Bardal, gained experience at renowned places such as La Alqueria at Hacienda Benazuza under Ferran Adria, as well as in the kitchens of Jean Luc Figueras and Dani Garcia. Chic sister-bar to Bardal (previously Tragabuches), Tragatá has also undergone a name change (from Traga Tapas), but the hip-fusion eclectic menu remains. The space is pleasantly minimalist, with a terrace out on the pedestrian street. Wasn’t able to get a shot of the new entrance as we had arrived early and the terrace still wasn’t set up.

Tragata’s been one of Ronda’s top restaurants since it opened what seems like yonks ago.
