Nestled beneath the arches of a centuries-old mansion, the discreet sign of the Tabanco Los Arcos Restaurant gives no hint of the treasure it contains. A tabanco is the French equivalent of a wine bar, with a rustic, tavern-style decor. In these “tabancos”, people come mainly to drink wine, and we enjoyed the selection of nectars, almost exclusively from the vineyards of the surrounding Serranía.

If you need something to hold you until dinner – a tentenpie as the Spanish call it – join the rondeños at Tabanco Los Arcos. This wine bar just off the Puente Nuevo bridge is said to be Ronda’s best. Pisqui and his friendly and speedy team serve regional Spanish wine and tasty titbits in Ronda’s narrowest wedge of a building.

A un paso de Tragatá y no muy lejos de El Lechuguita y el Tabanco Los Arcos, así que aquí tienes otro circuito claro. Mesas altas, camareros amables, uno de esos locales con el ambiente, el servicio y el tapeo de siempre. De aquí nos quedamos con los taquitos de Hígado en Manteca, tapa sencilla y sabrosona.

Located in the nerve center of Ronda we find this small space, with just 3 tables at the door and a few more inside, but it has a very remarkable offer of wines and cured meats. It is a perfect option to make a wine and tapas stop between so many visits to the monuments of Ronda.

Cross the bridge to the old town and Tabanco los Arcos is one of the first places you'll see. This is a great spot to sample the local Ronda wines!. When we visited the wine bar was packed, thanks to the aforementioned hailstones, but we slipped into a cosy table in the corner.

A perfect stop off whilst you see the sights around the famous bridge, try to get a table right at the back, where the windows overlook the stunning gorge and bridge. Here you can try many of the local Ronda wines by the glass, a rare pleasure, along with some nice tapas.
