Reviews Summary
Diners consistently praise ALTERNA Sidrería Oviedo for its incredibly generous portions and delicious, traditional Asturian cuisine. The staff, particularly Nely and Mario, are frequently highlighted for their friendliness and attentiveness, making for a welcoming experience. While the food is a major draw, the sheer size of the servings is something to be aware of, with many recommending sharing.
"My boyfriend brought me here, as he is local, to try the traditional food of the place. And honestly, I was impressed by the food quality and quantity! The portions are gigantic, so be aware of this and ask the waiter there. I loved croquetas de jamon, I think it’s one of my fav dishes of Spain, chicken with the cheese sauce was incredible as well (especially cheese). Important to mention, that we got the order in about 4 mins, that’s impressive speed. Prices r ok, but keep in mind that it’s better to book the table for the dinner, as they r always full of people!
Thank you for the nice evening, we will come back again:)"

"Very good food for fair price. Be aware, there is soooooooo much food for one person. :) If you are not used to eat like Spanish people (that means 3 serve menu including dessert), you will have full stomach after 1 dish. :)
And many thanks to "our" waitress Nely with translating and patience. ♥️🇪🇸"

"Try the chuleta! We got a beautiful cut that the server actually brought to the table to show us before the kitchen prepared it. Everything was cooked to perfection and we were even given a free portion of pate so we wouldn’t go hungry while the chuleta cooked. It was unexpected but great!"
