Reviews Summary

Diners rave about the incredibly delicious and authentic Indian food, with many calling it the best they've ever had. The generous portions and excellent value, especially the 'menu del día', are frequently praised. Service is consistently described as exceptional, friendly, and attentive, contributing to a warm and welcoming dining experience. Some reviews note issues with excessive oiliness in fried items or overly sweet preparations, and one diner mentioned a waiter attempting to upsell, but these are outliers in largely positive feedback.

"If you’re looking for an Indian restaurant when visiting Nerja, Mum is certainly the place to go.
We have been here numerous times now every year we come and it never disappoints.
We always order the Chicken Hundy which was recommended to us by the staff along with the spinach rice and it is exceptional every time. The assorted platter is also amazing. The nicest curry we have ever had.
The staff are so lovely, the service is brilliant. We absolutely love it. Delicious."

"The menú del día is hard to beat. €12.50 for a huge amount of food: an appetizer, three curries, rice or naan, and a dessert. We tried the samosas and the onion bhaji as appetizers. Both are very generous portions (2 large samosas, 4 onion bhaji) and both were quite good. For the main, you choose two of the three curries. The two curries I ordered were alright: the shrimp madras, which was tasty, and the paneer tikka masala, which was far too sweet for my taste (but I like my Indian food savory and spicy, unlike the sweet version you often find in Spain). The 3rd curry (no choice) was a lentil soup which was mostly water and a large piece of zucchini. Nothing was spicy in the least, which was disappointing for me. By far the worst part was the “dessert”, which was just a bowl of semolina. It was flavorless and sat untouched. Unfortunately, the server brought it to the table without asking if we wanted it or telling us what it was. If we’d known it was going to be a bowl of semolina, we would’ve just passed on the dessert since we were both so full already from the appetizers and main course. Overall, it’s a cheap, decent place to eat a large quantity of food. But it’s far from the best Indian restaurant in the area."

"when we arrived (without a booking during quite a busy period of 9-10pm) we were greeted with enthusiasm and accommodation. they easily seated our party of 6 and the service for us all throughout the night was impeccable. I would recommend this restaurant not only for the fantastic food but for the humorous staff and calming atmosphere. Additionally, at the end of my evening they graciously gifted us 6 free shots of limoncello. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here and would recommend to others 🩷"

I went for dinner and we got a seat right away, it was a Thursday so it wasn't very crowded. The food was delicious, the Tikka masala curry highly recommended, and the quantities are abundant.

The 10 best restaurants in Nerja

Spanish food is, of course, delicious, but one thing it is not is spicy. In Mum you can enjoy all of the great Indian classics, such as Onion Bhajhi, Chicken Tikka, or one of the chef’s specialties: Jhinga Dhum Nashi, a dum pukht with king prawns reminiscent of the time of the great mughal kings.

Top 10 Best Restaurants & Places to Eat & Drink in Nerja

Surprisingly, there are a ton of Indian restaurants in Nerja. MUM which is rated #1 on Trip Advisor looks very unappealing from the front but don’t judge a book by its cover. Head in and take yourself to the back terrace to enjoy a memorable Indian feast.
