Funky Recyclo is located on the banks of Málaga’s (mainly dry) Guadalmedina River, away from the crowds but still close to all the main attractions. There are bikes pinned to walls and hanging from the ceiling (the owners also do bike rentals), contributing to an informal, alternative vibe. Even by Málaga’s standards, Recyclo is notably vegetarian/vegan friendly – there’s even veggie chorizo – and you can create your own breakfast from a range of options and add-ons.

This is not a 100% veggie place, but they have great options for vegetarians as well. It’s situated on a lovey square on the edge of the old town, close to the central market “Atarazanas” in Malaga. It certainly offers a multitude of vegetarian and vegan dishes in Malaga. The peculiarity of Recyclo Bike Café, opened in 2014, is that it is half café/restaurant and half bike shop (like the shop they opened in the Pedregalejo area in 2005). The cafe opened with a fairly small and terse menu, but it has evolved over the years to the present day.

Not far from the main market, this cafe is located at a newly designed square in the historic old town. Here you can find typical Spanish dishes also in a vegan version on the menu. I have eaten the Spanish paprika sausage “chorizo” in the vegan form with potato chips and the hummus and can recommend both.

Located on the riverside a short distance from the center of Malaga, the Recyclo Bike was once a bike rental shop that has been converted into a bistro bar. Here you can eat small and simple typical dishes, or simply have a beer or drink with friends. Often the bar hosts some interesting events.

If you go nuts for peanuts, then you will go crazy for the vegan peanut cake at Recyclo Bike Cafe in Malaga. Even the waiter proclaimed that this vegan cake was much better than the ‘normal’ cakes. Recyclo bike cafe is a hipster café full of (unsurprisingly) cyclists and millennials.

Another favourite coffee shop to work from in Málaga was Recyclo Bike Cafe. It’s much busier than other places on this list, but we were able to grab a table each time we visited. One of the things we really loved about this cafe was the music and the general laid-back atmosphere.
