Reviews Summary

La Cocina de Ramón is widely praised for its delicious, high-quality food with generous portions and its charming atmosphere. Diners especially love the country-style dishes and desserts. However, some reviews mention inconsistent or inattentive service, which can detract from the overall experience.

"I visited Logroño today and I was lucky to find this great restaurant for lunch. I had heard about nice tapas in the old town and was ready to attack. But I saw this place, lots of Michelin stars for years, and decided to try. Very few times in my life I've eaten so much but the food was good. I ordered the country style dishes and decided to finish it with a flan and sweet wine. I did manage to get up and walk about this nice city before leaving. Service from all the staff was exemplary, and I even managed to practice talking some Spanish. It was a really good experience."

Pano Nikitopoulos

"Great place. Friendly staff and amazing food. One of my best dining experiences"

Marlene Aranzola

"I discovered La Cocina de Ramón while passing through Logroño on my Camino de Santiago, and it was a fantastic experience. The steak was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself is charming and cozy, perfect for a relaxing meal after a day of walking/cycling
The food was exquisite, with a great balance between quality and price. The service was excellent, always attentive and friendly.
Highly recommended!"

The Best Traditional Restaurants In La Rioja, Spain

Vegetarians will love the orchard-and-field focus at Cocina de Ramón, a stylish eatery in the centre of Logroño. Situated opposite the central market, from which all its ingredients are sourced, it offers vegetable-centred starters such as grilled leeks from the neighbouring hamlet of Varea cooked in an almond sauce, and artichokes from the coastal village of Santoña, served with a black garlic purée. If taken as part of the superb-value set menus, these starters are followed by mains of meat or fish and dessert (drinks are not included).

Logroño: Discover its Culture and Gastronomy

La Cocina de Ramón, a charming restaurant in Logroño’s old quarter, is the epitome of owner-chef Ramón Piñeiro’s deep passion for the culinary arts. This Michelin Bib Gourmand establishment’s warm and inviting atmosphere captures the essence of traditional home-style cooking, incorporating modern touches and constantly evolving flavors. Situated just a stone’s throw from the cathedral, the restaurant’s restored interior, adorned with exposed brickwork, sets the stage for a delightful dining experience.

Best Rioja restaurants: nine top fine-dining destinations

Just a few streets away from the cathedral in Logroño lies La Cocina de Ramón, ably led by Ramón Piñeiro and his hard-working team. The local market is less than 100 metres away, so fresh produce takes centre stage, particularly the region’s native vegetables, which Piñeiro works into a great many of his recipes. Delicious, hearty, filling food ideal after a long day of travelling and drinking wine.
