What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sorrento is highly praised for its authentic and abundant Leonese cuisine, particularly its exceptional cocido and morcilla. Diners highlight the generous portions and excellent value. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few mention a perceived drop in quality, citing issues with seasoning or ingredient freshness, though these are less common.
"If you want to try the typical for León region stew made of different meats, bacon, black pudding, chickpeas, cabbage and their soup, this is your place. Though its name is misleading (it relates to an Italian restaurant), they serve a rich and excellent stew. It is their only dish, actually. No doubt we will ask at the end for a takeaway box... 😀"
Alfons Gregori i Gomis
"This lovely place is right outside of the busy city centre, the service is spot on and the waitresses are lovely. The food is simply amazing, we've been in Spain for 7 nights and it's been our best dinner so far. Do not miss the cecina de vaca, the tortilla and the mollejas, after dinner the house offers irresistible homemade liquor with small ice creams. In my opinion absolutely unmissable!"

"If you are staying in Leon, you have to visit this place. Their menu del dia was off the chart. Especially their 'Morcilla' was THE BEST morcilla I ever had in whole Spain trip. Amount of food you will get is going to be blow your mind. I will re visit Leon just because of this place."

Restaurants in Castile–Leon and Castile–La Mancha
León is a cold, windy town for much of the year, so it's no surprise that the local version of cocido (boiled dinner) is heartier than usual with mounds of green cabbage, spoonable blood sausage, and some 10 types of meat (chorizo, beef shanks, pork belly, and chicken, to name a few). Sample the city's best rendition at this spartan yet inviting downstairs restaurant outside the historic center—and be sure to bring an appetite.
