"On our last evening in Las Palmas before returning home to Canada, we ate at your restaurant. For my main course, I had the cod fish with potatoes and grilled octopus in a beautiful broth. When I tasted the dish, I had an experience that I have never had before - I was filled with emotion. To me, everything about the dish was perfect - the flavour, textures, colours and temperature. But even more, the dish flooded me with memories of my grandmother and the fish dishes she cooked for me when I was a child. I struggled to find words to describe how the experience made me feel, but it touched me deeply.
Besides that very personal experience triggered by the food, the staff at the restaurant were marvellous. They took great pride in their service and readily revealed their passion for their food when we asked questions about the dishes. The location in an interior courtyard is very special too.
The meal was a beautiful ending to our visit to Las Palmas and I hope that I will be back there again sometime to enjoy another meal at the Casa Montesdeoca Restaurante."

"Rarely do you stumble upon a locale as breathtaking as this—a harmonious fusion of antiquity and modernity, exuding an imperfectly perfect aesthetic that venerates the passage of time through exposed walls and weathered wood.
Transported to an era of yore, the serene ambiance only amplifies the sense of tranquility. The culinary offerings delighted our palates, and every facet of this establishment, from the warmly attentive staff to the delectable cuisine, has left an indelible mark.
Eagerly anticipating our return, this enchanting place has become my newfound sanctuary."

Eat Local: Restaurante Fabio Santana, Vegueta, Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands (Spain)
Since the time we enjoyed a wonderful luncheon there several years ago (the restaurant then was named Casa Montesdeoca), the restaurant has new ownership and a talented new chef and we very much enjoyed the new menu and Spanish-fusion cuisine reflecting influences from France, Italy, and Japan. Note that the four of us dined family style, sharing all the courses pictured below. We highly recommend a luncheon or dinner there!

WINTER SUN DESTINATIONS // LAS PALMAS & GRAN CANARIA TRAVEL GUIDE
Casa Montesdeoca – an enchanted courtyard lit with twinkling lights and luscious palm trees sits behind a very unassuming building. This place oozes character. We enjoyed a drink in the bar before dining on fish croquettes, local melted cheese, octopus, tuna tartare, and squid with sweet potato.
