With orchid-inspired hanging lanterns reminiscent of the singing flowers in Alice and Wonderland, and bursts of Balinese colour, this East Asian inspired hangout is a tropical treasure. A little above Talamanca bay, amongst dense clusters of bushy pine trees, Ginger is the third and most recent island venture of extremely cool French owners Rodolph and Rita – inspired by the couple’s numerous exotic travels. The twinkling Mediterranean peeps through the canopy of fuscia parasols (you can make out the iconic outline of Dalt Vila) and the menu is full of delectable Asian-fusion dishes from Vietnamese spring rolls to zingy dumplings.

Located in the Talamanca bay, a short taxi-ride away from bustling Ibiza town, Sa Punta is a fine-dining restaurant where beautiful locals and clued-up visitors come for a truly unique feast. I absolutely loved the very natural and stylish decor with the uninterrupted views of the bay plus it’s only a five minute walk from Ibiza Town should you want to venture there afterwards. One great thing about this restaurant, if you’re heading here with kids, is the early opening time. Other restaurants we tried wouldn’t take a reservation before 8pm but at Sa Punta we could get here at 7pm and have Oscar back in bed not too late.

Argentinian chef Juliana Ranucci (pastry chef at the Sa Punta restaurant, currently on maternity leave) began her career when she was 17 years old. She has spent time in some of the finest kitchens in Argentina, Uruguay, United Kingdom and Spain, training and working in several Michelin star restaurants. Ranucci tells us that, at Sa Punta, both the owner and the chef are always willing to innovate.

Sa Punta restaurante has been around for a few years serving up nice Mediterranean food with lovely views back across Talamanca bay to Dált Vila in Ibiza old town.
