Reviews Summary

Taberna Góngora is praised for its authentic, generous portions of local food offered at great value, creating a traditional dining experience. However, some diners have noted inconsistent service, with occasional forgotten orders and unprofessional responses.

"Amazing local food. Super good quality, with big tapa portions too and value for money! We were lucky to find a table, although you might need to wait. Don’t miss on the fifty-fifty wine!"

Katerina Alexandraki

"It’s way overrated!

This is RED flag if you see this Google map positive rating with over 3.7K reviews and decide to go to this restaurant.
Maybe, beginning was better? And getting worse once they become popular?

The food was below average.
As photo can tell, they even didn’t trim the shrimp shit. The taste was bitter and fishy with a sandy texture.

Octopus tastes off like something is missing. White wine by the glass is also off.

NEVER come back here."

Yuya Sakamoto

"Disappointing. Not sure why it has such a fame. The croquetas de rabo de toro did not have enough flavour and they seemed to had been fried for hours. The gambas al ajillo did not taste of garlic. The tomate aliñado was mushy and without flavour. The flamenquín was ok. We decided not to order dessert to avoid further frustrations. It’s not a good sign when the menu has so many options. Price was low but understandable given the quality. The service was ok but I would not go back again unfortunately"

Best Cordoba Tapas and Where to Eat in Cordoba, Spain

One of the best places to eat in Cordoba is Taberna Góngora, but keep in mind that while this is popular with locals and travelers alike and has authentic Cordoba tapas, it gets BUSY!. It’s more of a restaurant than a tapas bar, so it’s best to try to make a reservation or get there early as it will fill up. You could also be prepared to wait too.

My favorite places to eat in Córdoba.

Taberna Góngora: Near and dear to my heart, this is where Pablo took me on our first date. You can expect grumpy waiters along with bull heads and bullfighter paraphernalia decorating the walls at this traditional Cordobés tavern. Their menu features a wide array of wild game (get the venison!), and they have the best flamenquín in Córdoba.
