What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
This restaurant is celebrated for its authentic Andalusian atmosphere, often enhanced by live guitar music, and its delicious, hearty Cordobés home cooking. Diners frequently praise dishes like the oxtail stew and salmorejo, as well as the friendly and attentive service, particularly noting specific staff members. However, some solo travelers have reported feeling rushed or experiencing inconsistent service, and one review mentioned an overly salted oxtail dish.
"This eloquent lively restaurant is a great place to enjoy a wonderful meal with good friends. Good wines and freshly made delicious food. Highly recommend!"

"I was disappointed in this highly recommended restaurant. As a solo traveller I was pushed into a corner table next to the guitarist and basically rushed through the dining experience of ox tail. The ox tail was over salted and almost inedible due to the salt overpowering the dish as a whole. The two waiting staff were rude and ignored me most of the time. Others dining there were treated with respect and I not rushed through as i was. I was given the bill as I was finishing my meal. Wouldn’t recommend as a solo female traveller."

Perhaps unfairly, the Caballo Andaluz, a relatively new establishment that’s the member of a small local chain (including nearby Puerta de Sevilla and La Viuda), is going to get a mixed review. The restaurant itself is a pleasant enough space, light and open with a central courtyard and a main dining area to one side, and another upstairs. Our one dish, a huge flamenquin, was very good, and came with a tasty mayonnaise that we ordered more of.
