What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mesón Cumbres Mayores is celebrated for its authentic Andalusian cuisine and generous portions, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Diners rave about the quality of the meat and seafood, as well as the traditional charm of the restaurant. However, some have noted that service can be slow during peak hours, and certain dishes might not meet everyone's expectations.
"The pork cheeks were excellent – tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My only small complaint is that the side dish (fries) could have been a bit more generous. The lamb chops were also delicious and very tender, though adding one or two more pieces would make it even better. The sangria was fantastic – refreshing and well-balanced. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming, with a nicely decorated interior. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, a great dining experience!"

"Very busy in the evenings with a good mix of locals and tourists. Traditional Andalusian tapas at the front counter and outside, while the back area is more of a restaurant. Portions are large, and you get bread, olives, and olive oil with your meal. We loved the lively atmosphere, but our steak and tuna steak were a bit disappointing – the fries were soggy, and the tuna was dry and chewy. Just our personal experience."

"Saw this place the night before when walking around and understood there’s a tapas (walk in only) and a seated area at the back with reservations. So we made a 9pm reservation for 4 the day after….Went there as a family (they seat you in the inside area) sat down for a tat more than 2 hours. All the fish dishes came out quickly (shark, octopus, fried calamari) but the meat balls and the entrecôte took an hour forty to come out (ordered medium and came out cold and closer to medium rare). Waiter broke my wife’s wine glass and spilt it over her bag - not a single word of apology or anything was offered. If I can provide a negative review on service I would have.
Don’t go for seated go for tapas bar (if you really really have to)"
