Inaugurated in 1997 in Arroyo de la Miel, Los Mellizos was originally solely a fish market specializing in wholesale local seafood that began serving small breakfasts and sweet snacks to customers as they waited for their orders to be prepared. Overtime, as it became an accidental local meeting point, and customers began to exchange cups of coffee for glasses of white wine and small cakes for langoustine brochetta's, Los Mellizos transformed into the popular local restaurant and hive of activity that it is today, serving up to 20 varieties of traditional malagueñan 'pescaito frito', (fried fish) and fresh shellfish served on large sharer plates with a basket of freshly baked bread and olive oil.
