What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tapas 24 is celebrated for its innovative take on traditional Spanish tapas, with many praising the truffle bikini sandwich, croquetas, and tortilla española. The lively atmosphere and interactive bar seating are also highlights. However, some diners have noted that the quality and service may not be what it once was, with occasional complaints about excessive richness or seasoning.
"Really good food, I ordered the chicken croquettes and they just melt to your mouth. Then I ate the salmon tartarewhich it was good it had salmon with avocado and this delicious sauce definitely good. The tortilla espanalo potatoes and onions was amazing it just melts in your mouth. The Sangria was good as well. Overall great place to eat."

"Wow, what a find! We were walking around to find a place for dinner. We didn’t have a reservation (hint!) so sat at the bar with our young kid. She loved watching the action of the servers and kitchen. Anyway, the food was fantastic. We had a couple of tapas that we had seen elsewhere (payoyo goat cheese with quince jelly in toast.) We probably spent more than necessary because we couldn’t stop ordering food!"

"Incredible food! I came back to Barcelona after 3 years and had to return — and somehow the food was even better this time! Truly one of the best places to eat in the city. It’s away from the typical tourist spots, which makes it even more special. Don’t miss the Bikini, the alcachofras, and the tomato tartar — absolutely unforgettable!"

The 30 best restaurants in Barcelona
Acclaimed chef Carles Abellan describes this side venture as ‘classic tapas’, but that is only half the picture. Although it’s modelled on tapas bars of yesteryear (its glass frontage is painted with menu items and jolly prawns, as those of all good tapas bars used to be) and it does serve Russian salad and ham croquettes, but it does them like nobody else. It also has the occasional more outré offering – my personal favourite is the ‘bikini’, a luxuriously truffled ham and cheese toastie.

Among the oxtail stews, fried prawns and cod croquettes, however, fans of chef Carles Abellan will also find playful snacks more in keeping with his signature style. The McFoie Burger is an exercise in fast-food heaven, as is the Bikini, a small version of his take on the ham and cheese toastie; his comes with truffle.

Tapas 24 was honestly my least favorite restaurant out of all the ones we ate at during our trip, but I’ve decided to keep it on the list because it came so highly recommended by multiple people and sources — not to mention, the line was out the door when we visited.
