Reviews Summary

Bodega 1900 offers a highly acclaimed tapas and vermouth experience, with many diners praising the innovative tasting menus and the quality of ingredients. The knowledgeable staff and engaging kitchen views contribute to a memorable dining adventure. However, some guests have noted that the value for money can be inconsistent, and there have been instances of perceived overcharging.

"I love love love this place. We had an amazing experience here. I use the word experience because our meal was definitely an experience! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Their homemade vermouth is delicious and I would highly recommend it. The olive appetizers are delicious. We basically liked everything we ordered. By far one of these best meals I’ve had in Barcelona."

"Really great tapas experience. While a bit pricey, the restaurant has a casual feel and nothing feels pretentious. Service was great. We opted for the tasting menu (not set, you're brought an assortment of 12 or so dishes, dictated by your preferences and hunger). Of our 14 dishes, there were only one or two we were indifferent towards.

Make sure to get (or request) the flan."

"In one word: WOW. This place was too good. I checked the site and came to conclusion that they were booked full for the next two weeks. I made a call in the afternoon, hoping that they still had a place for me. Luckily they did and I was welcomed for dinner. The place has such a nice atmosphere! Half of their kitchen is in the restaurant so you get to see the cooks in action. The service was so good, they knew about their products and made good recommendations. I chose the 'Chef's Menu' where you can note your allergies etc. They then proceed to create a 10/11 course meal for you (€60,-) excl. drinks. A place to remember and to re-visit again!"

After days of searching, I booked this Airbnb hosted by Arama and Jordi because it had great reviews, it was reasonably priced, and perfectly located in a safe residential area, away from loud bars and tourist traps. Arama personally greeted us when we arrived and showed us her simple but sparkling clean apartment. Her place is a stone’s throw away from Albert Adria’s restaurants like Tickets, Pakta, Enigma and Bodega 1900 which made this Airbnb such a solid find.

During their visit, the guys try spherified olives, artichoke with quail egg and salmon roe, and calamari sandwiches with plenty of wine. Sounds like a perfect evening, no?

The 10 Best Tapas Bars in Barcelona

Award-winning chef Albert Adrià may be known for wild dining experiences, but it’s here at his vermutería that he struts his profound knowledge of traditional Spanish cuisine. The restaurant will surprise you with its layout, and the house-made conservas (preserved foodstuffs), lazy tortillas, guisos (traditional stews), seasonal salads, flawless desserts, and everything in between, will call you back for another round of vermouth.

Bodega 1900 is just across the street from Tickets, another Albert Adrià spot, where you'll find a fresh spin on the classic tapas and vermouth bar. Bright white tiles and oversized cabinetry add to the charming, at-home vibe, though the real pull is the salty creations (salazones) served alongside smoked, grilled, and pickled plates that are a bit more innovative than what you'll find at your basic joint.

Bodega 1900 opened quietly back in September 2013 and the man behind it is non other that Albert Adria. This hole in the wall restaurant specializes in vermouth and tapas, two of his greatest passions. The name pays homage to the bodegas, small corner shops where one can grab a quick bite and a glass of vermouth, and the year of the building’s construction (1900).

Arguably Barcelona’s most famous vermouth bar because of its incredibly talented owners, Albert and Ferrán Adrià, Bodega 1900 actually serves a blend of Martini, which is an Italian vermouth. Of course, this would be hard for us to recommend if their food wasn’t so delicious!. It’s a great way to try an Adria family restaurant in a more relaxed environment.
