What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Las Cancelas offers a mixed dining experience. While many praise the restaurant for its authentic Ávila cuisine, particularly the steaks and lamb, and the charming historic ambiance, some reviewers note that the food can be inconsistent and overpriced for the quality. Service also receives mixed feedback, with some highlighting excellent staff and others reporting unpleasant encounters.
"The staff were extremely friendly. They were very gracious. My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights. Both of our rooms were really nice. They are really travelers friendly."
William Helmick
"We did not stay at the hotel, we only had lunch at this location. A local recommended this restaurant as an option for lunch. We had the chuletón with a salad on the side. While the meat was of the highest quality, the taste was just ok. I felt like we had spent a bit too much for what we got."
Lis Conde
"I highly recommend the restaurant at las Cancelas! Diego, our barman and waiter, was outstanding in service as well as very engaging. In traveling with others two of whom are native to Puerto Rico, shared with the five of us as to the authentic cuisine of the restaurant. I was very pleased with the red wines as well as my starter and main dish: mashed potatoes with pork rinds; a very large, moist and tasty lamb chop. The others had oxtail. This was something new to many of our group but they loved it! I was full but the others experienced a lemon sorbet combined with champagne. They raved glowingly about it.
Again, I highly recommend the restaurant at las Cancelas!"
