Reviews Summary

Tetería Almedina Baraka is lauded for its stunning rooftop views and authentic Moroccan cuisine, particularly the falafel and tagines. Diners appreciate the friendly service and charming Moorish ambiance. However, some visitors have noted slow service and inconsistent food quality, with one review mentioning a bland couscous.

"This is my favorite restaurant in Almeria. If you’re a foreigner prepare yourself for slow service because the serving culture is different in Spain. The servers here are sooo nice and’s helpful all you have to do is ask. As for the food: OUTSTANDING. The falafel is the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. Not to mention the atmosphere is beautiful too. I go here every chance I get."

Ryn Weldon

"I had the almond soup, falafel, and hummus. Soup is creamy, garlicky, and nutty. Hummus is smooth with lovely spices. The falafel has a crispy sesame seed coating. All were very good. Try the rooibos tea."

Ashleen Weston

Holiday guide to Almería, Spain: best hotels, restaurants and things to do | Spain holidays

Before reaching the Arab fortress, the Alcazabar, you pass the Almedina barrio, a tumble of narrow streets and cheerfully coloured houses, where a neighbourhood association is at work conserving Almería’s Muslim heritage, the spirit of al-Andalus. This tiny restaurant with courtyard is part of that initiative, and well worth visiting en route to the fort for its legendary limón a la hierbabuena (mint and lemon cordial) alone … although while there you could also go for a tagine and a few pastries stuffed with dates, chocolate, honey and nuts.

8 best restaurants in Almerìa (our 2025 reviews): where to eat

This is the ideal address for a short break before or after your visit to the Alcazaba!. For our part, we came at snack time and enjoyed the delicious oriental pastries and mint tea.You can also indulge in a variety of dishes, full of flavors (couscous, tajines) and even opt for vegetarian preparations (cold soups, tabbouleh, Berber lentils). In terms of atmosphere, you’ll appreciate the restaurant’s warm service and attractive setting.
