What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Plant Cafe Seoul is celebrated for its delicious and hearty vegan cuisine, with many reviewers praising the generous portions and flavorful dishes, especially the desserts and unique bowls. While the food garners widespread acclaim, some visitors have encountered issues with service speed and occasional overcrowding, particularly on weekends.
"It's a cosy place, you have to go up the stairs to reach it.
We were seated immediately. Water was self-service.
We ordered Hummus tempeh wrap, Steak & beans burrito, and Chilli cheese fries.
Hummus tempeh wrap was tasty. The taste of mustard was quite strong, so if you don't like mustard, keep in mind that this wrap is mustard-y.
Steak & beans burrito was amazing. Soy steak tasted like actual meat, the burrito was big and filling. Would 100% recommend it.
Chilli cheese fries had a generous portion of yubu & bean chilli on them. It wasn't too spicy, and it was a great blend of tastes.
Matcha latte was superb, amazing!! A must-order item.
Vegan or not, Plant Cafe serves great food."

"Vegan and gluten-free power bowls were so delicious. 2nd trip, we ordered a buffet. The agave mustard, banana pudding, and a mix of a burrito bowl and other delights. I had to bring a dessert home for later. Staff was so helpful I. My questions. The atmosphere is so cozy. Food was out of this world."
Dawn Marie Dennison
"The vegan chicken wrap and baked desserts were so delicious! I got the pistachio and blackberry cake, it was super moist and creamy, not too sweet, just perfect, the coffee was great too and staff were all super lovely, helpful and spoke amazing English, thank you! I want to try more of their desserts when I visit the area again!"

Although Plant, the beloved vegan haven of Itaewon, opened in 2013, its roots trace back to 2009 when Plant’s owner, Mipa Lee started her blog Alien’s Day Out. Documenting the ins and outs of being a vegan in Seoul, her following grew from the baked goods that she sold online. She eventually settled into this cozy one-room restaurant off the main road of Itaewon.

Plant is by far the most well-known vegan spot within Seoul – and for good reason, they offer an entirely vegan menu with gluten-free options, along with seasonal menus including Thanksgiving dinners, pumpkin spiced lattes, and Valentines themed cakes so you’ll never feel like you’re missing out on the festivities. I’ve visited a few times now and each time the food has blown me away.
