Reviews Summary
Ujin Haejangguk is a highly popular Jeju restaurant renowned for its comforting and flavorful hangover soups, particularly the gosari haejangguk. While the food is consistently praised for its taste and quality, diners should be prepared for significant wait times, often exceeding an hour. The service is generally efficient, and the staff is helpful with menu translations, making it a worthwhile experience for many.
"Expect to wait to get a seat. The line can often take two hours. I recommend estimating they seat 60 teams an hour so if your ticket is 120 teams in front of you then you can comfortably expect to come back within two hours and be there in time for when your number is called. Visually the food doesn’t look great but it did definitely taste good and I recommend trying it."

"Really popular place hence you cant expect utmost service but they aren't rude too. My 5 y.o. son could eat it so easily and its comfort food to me in the cold.
You do need to expect long waiting time. Nevertheless we went on a Saturday at 5pm and waited less than 30mins which is acceptable to me. Its my 3rd time here and I guess I will keep visiting everytime I visit Jeju since its very affordable too."

"Our first meal after landing in Jeju was at Ujin Haejangguk, a spot known for its hangover soups. We had gosari haejangguk (bracken soup) and momguk (gulfweed soup). Both were super comforting but I preferred the momguk as the gosari got a bit jelak after a while.
We also had a crispy mung bean pancake that was incredibly yummy and satisfying. Overall 7.5/10"

Restaurants in Jeju-do
At this no-frills Korean eatery—so popular that it has its own waiting hall—one of the house specialties is gosari haejangguk, a rich stew of pork and fernbrake, an edible fern that covers Jeju's fields in spring. So thick that it's almost a porridge, the stew reportedly keeps hangovers away, an assertion you could test with a bottle or two of locally produced Hallasan soju. The other specialty is gomguk, an equally rich soup of minced pork, pork bone broth and gulfweed, an edible brown seaweed.
