"My wife and I fell in love with the food here. My wife even thought the salmon tartar was better than any she'd had at Michelin stared restaurants. We also tried the beef and duck, both of which were so perfectly cooked that it melted in the mouth.
Our host, Mikael, was great, very attentive, and friendly. The ambience was very intimate and relaxed, it felt almost like being invited into someone's home.
We would highly recommend everyone try the food here while they can, before the Michelin guide discovers it."

"Exceptional food, nothing to envy to Michelin rated restaurants. Refined dishes but generously sized. Good service in good English. Nice ambience (all locals)v with french jazz playing on the background. Funny forget to make reservations."
David Schkolnik
"A charming little spot in the heart of Bucharest, offering natural and delicious food—dare I say, even better than home! I had a garlic cream soup that was rich and flavorful (without the worry of lingering aromas 🤭) and a heavenly crème brûlée for dessert. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique experience with a warm, homey touch. The food? Simply outstanding!"

Bucharest city guide: what to see plus the best bars, hotels and restaurants | Bucharest holidays
Home-style cooking doesn’t come much better than at Beca’s Kitchen (80 strada Mihai Eminescu, +40 744 344 700, becaskitchen.ro), a little family-run restaurant on an unassuming residential street, a short walk north of the city centre. Dishes – around half a dozen starters and a similar number of mains – are chalked up on a blackboard, which Beca herself will bring to the table and delight in explaining. There’s nothing particularly fussy or complicated about the food – for example, baked seabass with roasted veg and beetroot (£10), or rhubarb tart with vanilla sauce (£3) – it’s the simplicity, much like the place itself, that makes it a winner.
