Reviews Summary

Tacho Real is lauded for its charming old-world atmosphere and excellent service, creating an elegant dining experience. Diners rave about traditional Portuguese dishes and house-made desserts, though some found certain dishes heavy or lacking in flavor. While the value is considered good for the quality and location, a few reviews noted inconsistencies in food preparation.

"Really lovely little spot in an old hotel, very elegant setting. Fantastic service with a very knowledgeable server. Very authentic Portuguese food done very well with a very old school feel about it. We especially loved the dessert cart. Little more expensive than the surrounding restaurants but absolutely worth the money."

Zahra J

"A restaurant fabulously nestled at a junction that's ideal for people watching. We sat outside as a large tourist group booked out most of the tables.

We really enjoyed the cod, but the partridge was quite heavy on the red wine. The lemonade didn't come with ice despite it being an extremely hot afternoon. Overall we enjoyed the experience for the nice views, but the food & drinks left something to be desired."

Eunice Wu

"Tacho Real is the real deal; the value for the quality of food is right on the money, the service is exquisite, and the presentation of both the restaurant and the dishes produces a sense of charm I hadn't felt in any of the other restaurant I visited throughout my time in Portugal. The only small thing of note was that half of the steak au poivre was a bit overcooked."
