Restaurante Casario is highly praised for its impeccable service, delicious food, and stunning riverside location. Diners consistently rave about the flavorful Portuguese dishes, extensive wine list, and attentive staff who enhance the dining experience. While seating is limited, the overall ambiance and quality of the meal make it a must-visit.
"Beautiful spot along the water. Was recommended to us by a person we met on a tour. All the dishes we had was phenomenal and staff is very attentive and explained them all. Do not regret coming here and think this is a must visit. Definitely need reservations or you will be out of luck."

"We had a fabulous meal at Casario on a rainy evening in early May 2025. Pictured are squid and shrimp lollipops, scallops with creamy saffron rice and caviar, and for dessert, almond tiles with apple and mascarpone cream - all of which were delicious. Our waiter, Ignacio, was so welcoming and helpful with advice about Portuguese wine. When there was a no-show for one of the choice window tables, he happily moved us there to enjoy the view. On a warmer, drier evening, I'm sure the outdoor tables with a view over the Douro are spectacular. I highly recommend Casario for a special meal in Porto!"

"The food was incredible, and the service was even more impressive! I visited solo for lunch, and while I've heard dinner might offer an even better vibe, the experience was fantastic. The Portuguese rice with fish was a standout dish—absolutely delicious—and the cod was exceptional as well. Highly recommend!"

9 Must-Try Restaurants in Porto, Portugal
Found in the Gran Cruz House, now a hotel in a 16th-century building formerly used as a trade house for coffee, Casario undoubtedly has some of the best tables among Porto's restaurants. The restaurant is sleek but holds on to its Portuguese traditions; expect a huge range of local wines, and port made just across the river. Food is classic—cured salmon with figs to start followed by pork belly with cabbage and garlic sauce—but we’d highly recommend the tasting menu, chosen by the chef.

Our day started with a fabulous hotel breakfast at the Gran Cruz House in the Casario restaurant. You could order as much or as little as you liked and sit inside or on the second floor terrance. We went down at 9 am and got a wonderful table on the balcony.
