Unfortunately, I never made it to Coffee & Waves BUT, my friend Han from Han Meets World, who I was in Lagos with, did make it here, and so I asked her for her verdict. With its pale pink coffee cups, pastel coloured interior and in-house made surfboard collection, this place is quite an instagram hit. They offer everything you can expect on a hipster cafe menu: Acai bowls, Smashed avocado and egg on toast, loaded granola bowls and vegan cakes. They have an eye for design and that special talent for making everything aesthetically pleasing.

If you want something a bit healthier for breakfast than your standard tart, Coffee & Waves is my favorite cafe in Lagos. Step through the doors and you’ll be transported to a surf town. Delicious matcha, acai bowls topped with berries and fresh fruit – plus they even sell my favorite reusable, collapsible mugs from Stojo and a great selection of natural wines.

One of the best coffees in Algarve is definitely served in Coffee & Waves surf/coffee shop in Lagos. Also – you will be met with the kindest smiles and nicest people. This is not a restaurant where you can get an endless menu – their options are rather limited, but still, you can get some nice breakfast toasts and other snacks.

Lunch at Beats and Burritos will offer you an unexpectedly mouth-watering burrito that will fill you up for the afternoon without leaving you feeling lethargic. Or, for something more traditionally Portuguese, grab some seaside sardines and Vinho Verde at one of the many restaurants along Tres Irmãos beach.

A small but friendly coffee shop with a laid back vibe, excellent coffee and tasty loaded toasts. The staff regularly take part in coffee training and are genuinely passionate about what they do. Warning : this place can get super busy but take-away coffees are just as good.

The cozy Coffee & Waves is somewhat tucked away on the south side of downtown, but this is another fun hot spot in Lagos. As the name suggests, this is primarily a good place to drink coffee. You can also go here for smoothies and healthy bowls.

Before heading to the Algarve, I asked friends and family for recommendations. Coffee and Waves came up a few times as one of the best cafes in Lagos. It was much smaller than Black and White but it had a similar surf vibe.

Picture a modern, trendy brunch spot with great coffee, homemade desserts, delicious food, housemade wine and some relaxed music. Sounds pretty good, right?. The vibe in here was so nice, you didn't want to leave.
