"We found this absolute gem of a restaurant on trip advisor and went to extreme lengths to get from Porto to Guimaraes to find the place (train strike followed by a harried dash to the bus station to catch a bus to Guimaraes). The owner, Renato, was so passionate about the food/menu and was so welcoming and friendly. He treated us, not like tourists, but like a local or as friends. He explained what foods he would recommend and how everything was prepared. We had the brie with pumpkin jam starter, followed by the 14 hour slow cooked veal cheek with chunky potato wedges and vegetables. Everything was sublime and the vinho verde complemented the food perfectly. I would, without hesitation, recommend this extraordinary restaurant"
