"It’s was our first time on Madeira and we can highly recommend a couple of days in Funchal and staying in the The Three Hotel. First of all the location couldn’t be better. Close to everything. The rooms are great. New, modern, spacious. It’s more apartments than rooms with a separate bedroom. The rooftop pool and bar are incredible. The view over the old town and the sea perfect. And the service of the staff is great as well. Always ready to recommend. And the WhatsApp info with tips and tricks much appreciated. One thing to note. There’s no breakfast until 10.00 when the restaurant opens. Except for croissants on the door in the morning. There’s plenty of options in the surroundings of the hotel but we’d prefer breakfast nevertheless. And note to hotel - the beds are quite soft. If you invest, please do prioritize the mattresses."
