After our epic lunchtime fish feast at Faro e Benfica, we were still far too full for a full-blown dinner — but the warm evening called for wine and something to nibble. We wandered into the heart of Faro and found ourselves drawn to Aperitivo, a charming spot tucked along one of the busier tourist streets, standing out like a rose among thorns. Secretly, through my research, I’d already heard good things about Aperitivo, so I guided Mrs FF through the throng of waiters looking to entice us with menus adorned with the British flag, straight to this beautifully relaxed spot.

This is one restaurant that sadly we didn’t get chance to try but came highly recommended from a trusted friend. We walked past a few times and each time, if we hadn’t already eaten and perhaps didn’t have the little one, we would without doubt have sat in for food. This is the sort of place you spend your entire evening.

Pair your evening dinner with some chic drinks at Aperitivo. The bar offers Mediterranean cuisine with a touch of Portuguese aromas but it’s excellent even if you’re looking for a midnight snack, as food is served until 1am. Beloved locally, this is the spot for after-work drinks, so expect it to get busy in the evening.

Aperitivo Bar is a favourite after-work destination among locals. Its wide selection of international beers and tapas-style dishes are the perfect excuse to sit down and have a relaxing evening. Take advantage of their happy hour (6pm–8pm), when you can eat as much as you want and only pay for the drinks.

In downtown Faro, Aperitivo Bar mixes some of the best craft cocktails in town, which you can enjoy alongside some delicious tapas. Grab a seat outside and soak up the lively atmosphere of Rua Conselheiro Bivar. Down the road, you can find an unmatched selection of Portuguese craft beers at Boheme.

Aperitivo has a nice décor and atmosphere, their outside area is decorated with fairy lights wrapped around orange trees. There are also one or two night clubs along this road for those who are really adventurous.
