What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tasquinha do Oliveira is lauded for its exquisite, authentic Alentejana cuisine and intimate, cozy atmosphere, often described as a culinary gem. While many praise the impeccable service and unique desserts, some diners have noted the restaurant can be pricier than others, and one reviewer experienced a significant booking issue.
"A local on the street recommended this restaurant and it was wonderful. It is small with lots of memorabilia on the walls and the owner helped us with his very authentic menu and we had a magical lunch. A real gem with excellent food and the desserts were stunning. It is only a 10 minute walk from the Temple and well worth it after a morning of sightseeing."

"It was our first time here at Tasquinha do Oliveira.
It is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Évora.
Here Oliveira serves us and serves us with such delicacy, sensitivity, competence and perfection and his wife Carolina cooks with such excellence and talent.
We recommend and will return whenever we come to Évora."

"One of the most cozy and tasty Alentejana food in Évora. I booked a table for 2 an hour in advance and was able to get a table but do be aware that this place only fits in total 14 people and has 6 to 7 tables inside, so do make a reservation before appearing there.
The food was amazing, Mr. Oliveira was also very accommodating and always trying to give the best advice and suggestions. A bit pricier then other restaurants that serve this type of food but if you're looking for something special and don't mind spending around 25€ per person or a bit more, this is it!
Truly a really nice experience with amazing food."

Restaurants in Évora and the Alentejo
The charming husband-and-wife duo of Manuel and Carolina Oliveira own and operate this tiny upscale dining room with huge taste. There are only 14 seats in the entire restaurant, creating the atmosphere of a family dining room. The tiny size makes reservations essential, and the restaurant is frequently booked solid on Friday and Saturday nights.
Alentejo Hotels and Restaurants in Evora Portugal
For desserts, as opposed to pastries, I head to Tasquinha do Oliveira, a homely, six-table restaurant run by husband and wife team Manuel and Carolina Oliveira (Rua Cândido dos Reis 45). Peek behind the bar to choose from Carolina’s cinnamon-sprinkled puddings, from egg-yolk-and-sugar encharcada do Convento Santa Clara to cooked rice pudding, or farófias, a local take on floating islands. My favourite is the marginally less sweet sericaia, a custard soufflé whose recipe was imported from India and which is served with a preserved plum grown in nearby Elvas.
