Reviews Summary
Moules & Gin is celebrated for its exceptional mussels and extensive gin selection, offering generous portions in a romantic setting. While most diners rave about the quality and variety of the mussels and the unique gin pairings, some note that the sauce can be quite abundant, and a few have experienced minor service hiccups with drink orders.
"We went as a group of four and all enjoyed our meals. We had the mussels with pesto, mussels with Belgian sauce, mussels with tomato sauce and fresh herbs and the sliced steak with mustard, butter and fresh herbs. Each of us were pleased with our dish. The pesto was our favorite though. The blue gin was fun and tasty, as was the Thursday gin with lemon and bay leaves. The staff was attentive and friendly and spoke fantastic English!"

"Perfection! The host was excellent, very friendly. All food was 5 stars. We shared a steak and mussels between us. Mussels were obviously great, wide range of varieties with broths. Steam was excellent and the chips perfect too. Gin very tasty. Portions were very generous. Can’t fault it. Try it!"

"Had a fun lunch here. Tried the Salmon ceviche which was excellent. The deep fried mussels were good but just a minute overcooked I thought. We had three types of mussels which were good. Large servings. The only suggestion I might have is that the sauce was a lot in volume. When you finished half the pleasure is in consuming the infused mussel broth. Less water more cream Prehaps. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Might do with an electronic system to keep track of drinks etc. Our drinks were missed 3x. It did not take away from the meal but if you’re going to charge top prices for Gins etc finish the order. I do prefer chilled beer glasses. A small point but if you trying for the upper end. Bread was excellent ask for it heated. I would go back."

10 romantic restaurants in Cascais
The romantic nature of this restaurant begins with the accent used in the choice of main course: moules et frites (mussels and chips, but remember to order in French, thank you very much), and then the menu itself, which is mostly mussels served in different ways – and we’re not quite sure why, but there’s something romantic about shellfish. And then the drink that gives the restaurant the other half of its name: gin. There are many different labels to choose from, all served in balloon glasses.
