Reviews Summary

Tasquinha Dom Ferreira is lauded for its authentic, home-style Portuguese cuisine with remarkably generous portions. Diners rave about signature dishes like the duck rice and cod, praising the friendly service and cozy, traditional atmosphere. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some note that the desserts might not be homemade.

"There’s no need to hesitate if you’re looking for a restaurant to grab a bite. We chose the duck with rice based on reviews, the cod because it’s a traditional dish from Braga, and the roast because we thought two dishes wouldn’t be enough.

Well, the duck with rice turned out to be the best meal we’ve had in Portugal—don’t be fooled by appearances, you have to try it—pure magic! ✨ The cod and roast were also delicious! 😋 We highly recommend this place to everyone. Just a note: the portions in our photo are half-portions, so the comments about the huge amount of food are true. 🍽️ However, you can take the leftovers home, which is what we did. Highly recommend this spot to everyone! 👍"

Antonina Mochocka

"This restaurant in Braga is really delicious! From the appearance of a medieval tavern, you will eat real Portuguese food. You will not find a huge menu, but 5/6 delicious choices (meat and fish). We ate the appetizers (cheese, cold cuts, pastel de bacalá, olives), then the duck rice and veal stew. Don’t miss the desserts, they are delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. We spent 29 euros each including wine, water, appetizers, rice, second course and desserts. The portions are really generous."

Alessia Liscia

"LOVELY spot! They kindly squeezed us in even through they were busy and the service was impeccable throughout. We had the duck rice and the veal and everything was delicious- and save room for the flan for dessert! Would 10/10 recommend."

"Tascas" typically Minho in Braga

With almost 70 years of existence, Tasquinha Dom Ferreira remains true to itself. As soon as we passed the front door, we were transported back in time to a past back where the houses were made of stone, food was served on clay platters and we ate very well. In this little dish the food is honestly prepared with local and seasonal ingredients, while maintaining a very high quality level.
