Reviews Summary
Atravessado is praised for its cozy and romantic atmosphere, making it a hidden gem in Braga. Diners frequently rave about the friendly staff and the delightful traditional Portuguese food with a modern twist, especially the starters like pataniscas and mains like the octopus. While the food is generally well-received, some guests have noted that certain dishes could benefit from more seasoning or better flavor combinations, and the pacing of service can occasionally be slow.
"Really romantic and cute place with high quality food and extremely friendly staff! Will definitely come back!"

"Atmosphere: A cute little restaurant hidden the middle of historic district in Braga.
Service: We made a reservation via thefork at 12:30pm. The restaurant opened a few minutes later than the schedule. The front of the house person seemed to be very knowledgeable about the menu and able to explain everything we needed to know, which is a good thing. The food came on a slower paste that we’d like. We were hoping at the entradas would come at the same time, instead it came one by one, with a few minutes of waiting in between dishes
Food:
1. Cogumelos Bulhão Pato was executed well with great flavor. We loved it
2. Vegetables Tempura has great batter, but wasn’t seasoned well. It did not come with tempura dipping sauce, instead, it came with bland mayonnaise. Personally, I think the carrots were a bit undercooked for tempura.
3. Arancini was underwhelming. It lacks of seasoning and salty element. They were also a bit dry. I wish it has some kind of sauce to make it better.
4. Fried Filet Octopus were great. It was seasoned very well. However; the wet rice/beans combination was bland. It’s just not a good combination.
Overall, the food were hits and misses. I hope you can keep up with the hits and improve the misses. Would love to come back after the improvement."

"A median Portuguese restaurant with a touch of Spanish cuisine.
Great service and cozy atmosphere!
Feel like the tapas could use more flavor. Ordered the shrimp tapa and it didn’t have much flavor beside consuming bland shrimp and tomato sauce.
The polvo a lagareiro saved the day as its one of the best I’ve had in Portugal. The octopus was tender.
The Douro wine was decent. Not an intense blend of red wine."
