Reviews Summary
Karczma Lwowska is celebrated for its authentic Polish cuisine and charming, historical ambiance that transports diners to Lviv. Many patrons praise the delicious, traditional dishes and the cozy atmosphere, especially when enjoying outdoor seating with market square views. However, some reviews mention issues with service, including instances of arrogance or perceived racism, and a few diners found the food to be bland, though these seem to be isolated experiences.
"After spending the day walking around, we decided on this restaurant for lunch. There was no wait to be seated, and the service was fantastic. The roasted pork was extremely tender and flavorful, and the boiled potatoes reminded me of the ones my grandmother used to make. The salad was delicious, with just the right amount of dressing"

"Food is not good not bad. Nice location. We enjoyed the outside seat.
The vegetarian cabbage rolls with wild mushroom sauce and beets salad were good. Bigos was so so good but still I won't come back for it.
The beer mug had a chip and I found the chip in the mug! There must be a better place to have a nice dinner."

"I had the fresh asparagus and it was great and then the chicken salad which was really good as well but to much onions for my taste. What surprised me that when I was paying for the food the waiter told me that service fee was not included. I always give tip if service is good no problem with that but in general in Poland service fee is included in the price…so be aware of that in this restaurant…and just ask the waiter about service fees before you make an order…👍"

Karczma Lwowska (00 48 71 34 39 887, lwowska.com.pl), on the Rynek, has a wonderfully kitsch interior which mimics a Polish forest, and some of the best traditional food in the city. Sample smalec (fried lard), cabbage rolls, bigos (slow-cooked cabbage with meat), pierogi (meat and cheese filled dumplings), grilled meats and poppy-seed cake – and try honey vodka or locally brewed beer. Pod Fredra (00 48 71 341 13 35, podfredra.pl), also in the market square, is another good choice for traditional fare, as is Karczma Młyńska (00 48 71 322 60 77, hoteltumski.com) near Cathedral Island – try its veal schnitzel.
