Reviews Summary

Alewino is celebrated for its creative, exceptionally crafted dishes and an extensive, well-curated wine list. Diners praise the intimate and charming garden ambiance, complemented by friendly and knowledgeable service. While generally highly rated, some find the prices to be on the higher side for Warsaw, and a few reviews mention the innovative dishes sometimes miss the mark.

"I recently dined at this exceptional restaurant in Warsaw, proudly listed in the Michelin Guide, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish was meticulously crafted, bursting with flavor and uniquely presented. Each bite told a story, highlighting the chef’s remarkable creativity and attention to detail.

The wine selection was equally impressive, offering an extensive variety to suit every palate. Whether you’re a connoisseur or just exploring, there’s something for everyone. The staff’s knowledge and recommendations made the pairing experience truly memorable.

From the exquisite cuisine to the impeccable service, this place is an absolute must-visit for any food lover. I can’t wait to return!"

"A hidden gem worth discovering
This lovely restaurant offers excellent food and exceptionally friendly staff. Although the entrance is discreet—tucked away in what looks like a parking area in an upscale neighborhood—don’t be discouraged. Keep going, and you’ll find yourself in a beautiful garden filled with trees, plants, and herbs.

The menu stands out with unique dishes you won’t find elsewhere, showcasing the chef’s creativity and flair. Each plate is presented like a small piece of art, and the combinations of flavors and textures are truly delightful.

While Polish wines aren’t prominently featured on the menu, we recommend surprising yourself with a glass of Turnau Solaris (2023) — a white wine that pairs wonderfully with the food.

We would absolutely come back — a fantastic dining experience from start to finish."

"Visited Alewino while in Warsaw as a fancier night out. We chose this resto for its rave reviews and Michelin guide, and our experience met our expectations. Our server was lovely and knowledgeable, helping us with wine selections based on our preferences, and the food was delectable (particularly the oysters and beef tartare to start). When we arrived at 7, the restaurant was quiet but by the time we were leaving around 930 the rooms were full and chatty. Definitely recommend Alewino!"

Warsaw: Dining Under The Sun

A long-time favourite of Warsaw, alewino is deservedly highlighted with our Bib Gourmand award. Take a turn off one of the courtyards of Mokotowska Street and enter into a truly secret garden protected by the walls of old buildings and filled with mature trees, colourful hydrangeas and aromatic herbs planted in wooden boxes. Between them, find your table, then order the likes of chanterelles with fava beans and savoury sabayon; a refreshing chłodnik – a chilled soup of baby beetroots with crunchy kohlrabi and soft egg; or stone bass with white asparagus and herbed gnocchi.

Alewino started as a small wine shop, where one could find a huge variety of the most unusual bottles, and it was here that Warsaw´s modern wine culture was born. Gradually, Alewino grew into a fully-fledged wine restaurant in the courtyard of the fashionable Mokotowska Street, and did so beautifully, becoming a truly iconic place. Of course, the main focus here is wine, but the food, which became more and more elaborate with each year of the restaurant’s existence, has ultimately become the perfect complement to the local wine collection.
