Republika Róż is well known for its Sunday buffet brunches, sweet treats, and sparkling cocktails, they also offer a rather nice lunch and dinner menu with items like coffee-crusted pork loins, zucchini rosti, and more. I went with their featured dish, the pulled duck with hash browns, smoked plum, rosemary, red cabbage, black currant, baked applesauce, and leek hay. Let me tell you, it was heavenly and I’ll be dreaming about that meal for a long time to come.

It was time for a spot of lunch and as we began the search for a restaurant, we stumbled across a pretty little place, Republika Roz, just yards away. The outside was very stylish and bijou with its own well-defined character and the interior very much the same. Of course I couldn’t resist and persuaded my parents that this is where we wanted to eat lunch.

The next day, Saturday, we headed out in the morning to amble our way through the town in search of breakfast. We ended up at Republika Roz, a lovely little cafe that proved to be an excellent start to our meals in Poznan. We had a hearty, cheap breakfast, including an almost comically large (but delicious) hot chocolate for me.

Republika Róż serves salads, pasta, burgers and several Polish dishes. You will also find cakes and desserts here, as well as a wide selection of coffees, teas and cocktails. On warm days, Republika invites you to a charming garden overlooking the beautiful Plac Kolegiacki.

Republika Roz reminds me of a quaint little tea shop or someone’s summer home in the English countryside. The mismatched chairs and tables give this cafe a character that will have you charmed before you even order. The decor brought us in, but the food made us fans.

Republika Róż offers perfect breakfast sets, as well as many desserts and lunch meals. You can enjoy your meal inside and admire the decor, or outside and enjoy the sun.
