Reviews Summary
Kuchnia u Doroty is celebrated for its authentic, home-style Polish cuisine served in generous portions at remarkably affordable prices. Diners praise the cozy, welcoming atmosphere and the friendly, efficient service. While the food is consistently rated as delicious and comforting, some mention minor service hiccups like forgotten drinks or slight delays.
"One of the culinary highlights of our five nights in Krakow! We came here on a whim for my birthday, and it did not disappoint. No, they don’t take reservations, and yes, you’ll likely have to wait a little while. It’s worth it for the delicious, home-cooked and comforting Polish food they serve.
Can’t remember the exact names of what we ordered (it’s all on the receipt in the photo!), but we had a beet-based soup, kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, schnitzel with potato dumplings, trio of salads, an apple pie, cheesecake, and the most delicious 0% Polish beer. All of it was so good and so filling, we had to package some of it up to take home! Our waitress was incredible kind, and even put a candle in my cake.
Not fancy or pretentious, extremely reasonable prices, and solid food. Highly recommend."

"5/5 all across the board:
Perfect food, varied menu of all Polish classics delivered swiftly and so, so good.
Wide offering of beers, good seasonal specials.
The service is super direct, friendly and effective. You can wait out front if it’s full, and they give you reasonable and honest waiting estimations. I would recommend reserving if possible.
We had a slight mistake in our order but they set it right immediately and without hassle.
There are children’s seats available is you need them."

"This was honestly the best traditional cuisine I’ve had in Krakow, and it turned out to be such a wonderful experience for me. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately made me feel comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, always serving with a genuine smile, which added so much to the overall experience.
The food itself was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of authentic flavor and perfectly prepared. You can really taste the effort and tradition that goes into their cooking, and it gave me a true sense of Polish culture through its cuisine.
If I come back to Krakow again, this is without a doubt one of the first places I’ll return to, because it left such a positive impression on me. The combination of amazing food, kind service, and a cozy, authentic setting made it truly unforgettable."

Kazimierz is the place where loads of people go to drink and dine in what was for centuries the Jewish Quarter of Krakow. While our laundry was being washed one afternoon, we wanted a place nearby to eat and Kuchnia u Doroty came up on my search. Besides the great food and reasonably priced beer, there was an air conditioner running on our first visit for the coolest meal we had in Krakow during the hot days of summer.
