Although Polish dumplings are delicious, I was disappointed with Georgian Chinkali – they didn’t look or taste like those in Georgia.

It is really delicious and the restaurant is also located in Gdańsk Centre so it is easy to get there which is huge advantage.

Pierogarnia Mandu is a restaurant specializing in dumplings, one of the Polish national dishes. It is located in a halfway between main railway station and Dluga street in the center of Gdansk. The restaurant offers many different kinds of dumplings - boiled on water, baked and sweet.

You will find several Pierogarnia in Gdańsk, but for us, the best place to enjoy pierogi in Gdańsk remains Mandu. Located a bit outside of the old town, Mandu serves Pierogi in a thousand ways. Mandu makes Dumplings to satisfy every taste and diet (vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian...).

Many young people gather there and have a drink, but if you want to go out to a disco, some well-known places are Bunkier Club, Mandu or Klub Parlament. There are many more places you can go, of course, but these are some of the most frequented, especially by international students.

An amazing selection of wet dumplings, baked, savoury and sweet. Prices are reasonable, you can see them make them through a small window too. I recommend them with a serving of honey mustard, and if you love a beer, try the Jurajska Pomarancza, a wheat beer with honey and orange.

If you’re going to try one traditional dish in Gdansk, then it should be pierogi. And there are plenty of places to try them, but Pierogarnia Mandu is regularly voted the best. In fact, it’s a little too popular if the long long queue on a Saturday lunchtime was anything to go by.

There is a lot of foreign cousine, but when it comes to the local one I would recommend Mandu (pierogi), Manekin (pancakes), Pyrabar (potatoe pancakes and potatoes). I really like Harcówka it is not the most fancy, but it has the most delicious and traditional polish meals.

This is by far the most popular and best restaurant in town for pierogi. During busy times (it’s always busy!) there can be a bit of a wait for a table, and as pierogi are made to order, they can take up to 45 minutes. However, it’s absolutely worth it!

An alternative to this classic place is Mandu with its delicious dumplings and welcoming atmosphere. Also the restaurants’ offer in Sopot does not have to shock with high prices. In Forma na Talerzu you will order food which is inexpensive and healthy.

And the best one in the whole Gdańska are in Mandu (Gdańsk-Oliwa, ul. Kaprów 19D i Gdańsk-Śródmieście, ul. Elżbietańska 4/8). They serve them sweet, salty, vegan, all handmade and prepared with love.
