"The food is delicious, and it's authentic Indonesian cuisine. We ordered their original Nasi Goreng, Beef Rendang, chicken satay, and Vegetable Curry. The service was acceptable, and the restaurant was clean. However, there is no nearby parking available, so you'll need to walk for about 5-10 minutes to reach the restaurant."

"Restoran Garuda Makati is part of a chain that originated in Indonesia but the only branch in the Philippines.With many items to choose, opted for combo or paket which included proteins, sides and steamed rice plus veggie for the day. I had rendang daging with fried tofu combo and partner opted for fried milkfish and veggie fritter. Rendang was spiced correctly and generous, tender beef portion. Bangus was bland but fritter was crunchy. The combo came with sweet ice tea. Busy during peak lunch crowd but still service was quick."

Their sweet tea is incredibly sweet, which I would avoid, but I really liked their satays.

So I was thrilled when I found out that a new one called Restoran Garuda opened its doors in Salcedo Street in Legazpi Village, Makati just three weeks ago. When I did a quick Google search before checking it out for lunch with my dear friend Melo Esguerra, there wasn’t much information about it. All I know was that it was located right across the Indonesian Embassy (thank you for that bit of information, Ram Bucoy!) and it received some pretty positive reviews on community sites like Trip Advisor, Zomato and their own Facebook page.
