What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dos Mestizos is celebrated for its authentic Spanish-Filipino cuisine and cozy, upscale ambiance, often complemented by live music. Diners praise the quality of dishes like paella and tapas, though some find the prices on the higher side. A few reviews mentioned excessive saltiness in certain dishes.
"We’ve been returning to Dos Mestizos for the past 15 years, ever since my mother—who’s a true foodie—first introduced me to it. I’m happy to say that it still delivers many of the classic Spanish dishes we’ve come to love. While it’s a little bittersweet to see that a few old favorites are no longer on the menu, the overall experience remains warm, satisfying, and full of character.
I still strongly recommend dining here—not just for the food, but also for the ambiance. It’s the perfect place to unwind over a good glass of wine and a few simple but delicious tapas. A true Boracay staple."

"I recently visited this Dos Mestizos Restaurant and honestly, it was quite disappointing.
The service was fine, but the atmosphere was nothing special certainly not worth the high prices they charge.
We started with chorizo and potato tapas, which were just okay, but far too salty. Next, we had the tomato salad, which felt overpriced for what it was just four pieces of lettuce, a single tomato slice, about 5 grams of cheese, and a basic vinaigrette. Definitely not worth the price.
Then came the calamari soup, which, once again, was excessively salty. It had a decent amount of seafood, but the overpowering saltiness and what seemed like an overuse of chicken stock cubes ruined the flavor.
For the main dish, we had tiger prawns with potatoes (listed as “Langostinos en aroma de azafrán” for 1,850 pesos). Unfortunately, the prawns had the same overly salty taste as everything else, if not worse. Four small, salty shrimp with potatoes for that price? Ridiculous.
Honestly, a top-tier hotel in Dimall serves the same type of food for half the price and with much better quality.
I initially chose this place based on positive reviews, but after my experience, I have a hard time believing they are real. The restaurant is overpriced, the food is excessively salty and lacks depth, the atmosphere is nothing special, and while the service was acceptable, it wasn’t outstanding. Definitely not worth the money.
Would not recommend."

"We decided to try this Spanish restaurant in Boracay and it did not disappoint. The tapas were impressive, especially the calamares fritos (which reminded us of Spanish chipirones) and the croquettes, which had a creamy filling and crisp exterior. For our mains, we ordered the Paella Negra and Lomo de Vaca, both of which were flavorful and satisfying.
For dessert, the panna cotta and crème brûlée are simply perfect.
Felicitaciones al propietario!
Keep in mind that prices are on the higher side, which is typical for fine dining on an island."
